What is Leaky Gut?

The process when your digestive system becomes inflamed and the intestines in your body become “semi-permeable”, meaning the certain objects are allowed to pass through into your blood stream, including food particles and toxins. Your Intestines should never allow food or toxins to pass through into you blood stream.

Recent research suggests that 80-90% of Americans may be experiencing some degree of gut permeability issues. This condition often underlies many chronic health challenges but is frequently overlooked in conventional treatment approaches.

The term Leaky Gut describes bacterial endotoxins in the gut which leak through the gut wall into the blood stream causing systemic inflammation. Secondly proteins from foods and toxins leak through the gut wall into the blood stream causing our immune system to react against the invaders.

As Hippocrates the father of modern medicine said: “All disease begins in the Gut.”
Hippocrates was right! Almost all disease in the gut begins as Digestive System Dysfunction.
